美國(guó)喬治華盛頓大學(xué)Thomas A. Mazzuchi教授應(yīng)邀到北理工作學(xué)術(shù)講座

　　應(yīng)我校管理與經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)院書(shū)記李金林教授的邀請(qǐng)，美國(guó)喬治華盛頓大學(xué)工程與應(yīng)用科學(xué)學(xué)院Thomas A. Mazzuchi教授于4月14日上午來(lái)我院進(jìn)行學(xué)術(shù)訪(fǎng)問(wèn)，并在主樓為大家?guī)?lái)了題為What’s Wrong with Risk Matrices的學(xué)術(shù)報(bào)告。管理與經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)院部分師生參加了報(bào)告會(huì)，報(bào)告結(jié)束后，師生踴躍提問(wèn)， Mazzuchi教授對(duì)所提問(wèn)題均一一耐心解答。李書(shū)記代表全院師生感謝Mazzuchi教授豐富精彩的報(bào)告。

 

　　喬治•華盛頓大學(xué)(The George Washington University，GWU)是美國(guó)頂尖的私立大學(xué)之一，位于美國(guó)首都華盛頓，毗鄰白宮、國(guó)會(huì)、大部分聯(lián)邦機(jī)構(gòu)、世界銀行、布魯金斯學(xué)會(huì)等政府組織、研究機(jī)構(gòu)和專(zhuān)業(yè)協(xié)會(huì)，經(jīng)過(guò)近200年的風(fēng)雨洗禮，喬治•華盛頓大學(xué)已發(fā)展成為一所規(guī)模龐大聲譽(yù)卓著的國(guó)際性研究機(jī)構(gòu)。工程與應(yīng)用科學(xué)學(xué)院創(chuàng)建于1884年10月1日，自建立以來(lái)，一直強(qiáng)調(diào)“要引領(lǐng)科技的發(fā)展”的原則。學(xué)院下轄土木和環(huán)境工程系，計(jì)算機(jī)科學(xué)系，電子和計(jì)算機(jī)工程系，工程管理和系統(tǒng)工程系，機(jī)械和航空航天工程系。所有系都提供涵蓋學(xué)士、碩士和博士的學(xué)術(shù)學(xué)位及職業(yè)學(xué)位和專(zhuān)業(yè)認(rèn)證。

　　Mazzuchi教授簡(jiǎn)介：

　　Dr. Thomas Mazzuchi received a B.A. (1978) in Mathematics from Gettysburg College, Gettysburg, PA, a M.S. (1979) and a D.Sc. (1982), both in Operations Research from the George Washington University, Washington DC.  Currently, he is a Professor of Engineering Management and Systems Engineering in the School of Engineering and Applied Science at the George Washington University, Washington, D.C.  He is also the Chair of the Department of Engineering Management and Systems Engineering at the George Washington University where he has served as the Chair of the Operations Research Department and as Interim Dean of the School of Engineering and Applied Science. 

　　Dr. Mazzuchi’s current research interests include risk analysis, reliability growth assessment, software reliability modeling, design and inference in life testing, reliability estimation as a function of operating environment, maintenance inspection policies, and incorporation of expert judgment into reliability and risk analysis.
